Volkswagen announced today that CEO Bernd Pischetsrieder will step down at the end of the year. The company did not say why Pischetsrieder is stepping down even though the Volkswagen’s board just recently extended his contract for another 2012. Audi’s current CEO, Martin Winterkorn will take Pischetsrieder’s place for 2007 but Pischetsrieder will have a new role within the comapny.
