2009 Lotus Esprit - Lotus to Add Several New Models

The new 2009 Lotus Esprit is just two years away and is going to be priced to compete with the Porsche 911 Turbo and the upcoming Audi R8 making it close to $130,000. Rumor has it that the Lotus Esprit will be powered by a BMW 4.8 liter V8 engine that will produce at least 400 horsepower. Lotus is confirming that there is a coupe as well as a convertible version of the Esprit to be launched in 2009.

Lotus is also planning a two-plus-two Lotus coupe and is looking to get back into the business of producing Lotus-badged cars and is hoping to bring back the Ford Lotus Cortina, Talbot Lotus Sunbeam and the Opel Lotus Omega.
