Honda Unveils New Imrpoved Fuel Economy VTEC Engine

Honda today unveiled an improved 2.4 liter “Advanced VTEC engine” that allows increased performance, improved fuel economy and lower emissions. The new VTEC engine allows optimum control over intake valve lift and phase in responsive to driving conditions. In low to medium load levels, the valves are set for low lift and early close to reduce pumping losses improving fuel economy. Honda plans to release a production vehicle featuring the new advanced VTEC engine within the next three years.
