Last week Apple decided to update the iPod Nano to the iPod Nano 2G, lowering the price and giving consumers more for the money while pissing off purchasers of the original iPod Nano. BMW decided to go a similar route by replacing the popular BMW 325i and the 330i sedans with the 328i and the 335i respectively. The only difference is that, unlike Apple, BMW didn’t throw a huge party to show it off and decided to charge an average of $2,000 over previous models.

The new BMW 328i will have an MSRP of $32,400 and a 3.0 liter engine that produces 230 horsepower as compared to the $30,900 325i with 218 horsepower. That’s just a 12 horsepower difference so owners of the 2006 325i might not be that pissed off. On the other hand, owners of the 2006 330i with 250 horsepower might be a little ticked off because the new 335i will have an MSRP of $38,700 and a 3.0 liter engine that produces an outstanding 300 horsepower.

Also, a $695 Destination and Handling charge will also be applied. BMW of course went this route to keep their 3 Series line uniform with the launch of the new 3 Series coupes that come in a 328i and 335i version.
