GM said today that it will be offering new 6.6 liter V8 turbo diesel SUVs and light trucks after 2009. GM has offered diesel engines on its larger heavy and medium size trucks before, but said that the new engines will meet the strict emission standards that will be 90 percent cleaner than current diesel engines. The 300 horsepower diesel engines will most likely be offered in the GMC Yukon, Cadillac Escalade and the Chevrolet Tahoe.
