Lotus today unveiled the new Lotus Exige 265E and is claiming that it is not only probably the world’s fastest ethanol car but also the most powerful road Lotus Exige ever made. With a top speed of 158mph and the ability to do 0-60 in 3.88 seconds and 0-100 in 9.2 seconds, that sounds pretty believable. The Lotus Exige 265E weighs just 2,050 pounds and pushes 265 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. As of yet, Lotus has no plans to put the Exige 265E into production.

    What’s more exciting about this Exige 265E is that it is the first bio-ethanol Lotus. This only proves that being green is definitely not boring.
