Bye Bye Honda Insight

Posted: May 17, 2006

Honda has decided to kill their once popular hybrid, the Insight. Selling only 320 in the first four months of 2006, as compared to Toyota’s 30,357 Prius sales, Honda has decided to develop a totally brand new hybrid for a future release. Honda is looking to produce a care that will cost less than the Civic hybrid on the market right now. You can expect to see that baby around some time in 2009.

I have a 2001 Honda Insight and I am sad to see it go…100,000 + miles and going strong. I love the gas mileage and clean emissions! It’s a great car that I can use for almost everything I do. With all the interest in other hybrids,it’s still the most fuel efficient car on the market. Looking forward to what Honda has to offer in a couple of years…In the mean time I plan keep drivin’ the Insight.

well you’re one of the lucky few who gets to keep that insight for a while. I’m speculating that the new hybrid will give a lot more for the money.
